Challenge
Unify existing functionalities, implement new ones, and integrate everything with the brand’s new visual identity. All of this without forgetting the app’s beauty and accessibility for all users.
Detailing the challenges:
Unification and creation of functionalities: It was necessary to ensure that the app offered everything users already knew and loved, while also introducing new features that enhanced the experience. Finding the balance between the familiar and the innovative was crucial.
Cohesion with the visual identity: The redesign needed to reflect the brand’s new image, consistently conveying its values and personality across all app screens.
Aesthetics and accessibility: The app had to be visually appealing and inviting, without compromising usability for people with different accessibility needs. Considering all audiences was essential to creating an inclusive experience.
Next steps
he app is already published and functioning normally, and it is constantly undergoing improvements in functionality and usability. Currently, the Darwin network has over 75,000 patients and more than 150,000 appointments made. It continues to grow and enhance its features more and more!
What I learned from this project.
This was one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in this field. I dedicated myself a lot, and I could see that everything I studied and worked hard for is paying off. When the redesign was completed and published, it was one of the best days of my life. All the dedication was worth it, and it served to gain great learnings, such as:
Learning to deal with challenges: Combining functionality, visual identity, accessibility, and aesthetics.
Finding solutions for the product and the user: I discovered that with creativity, research, testing, and a good dose of collaboration with the development team, it’s possible to transform the app into something incredible.
Skills: UX principles and accessibility, constant communication, and continuous learning.
Promoting digital inclusion: Accessible design that considers the needs of all users ensures that the app is inclusive and democratic, allowing everyone to benefit from its features.
Creating a positive social impact: A well-designed app, used responsibly, can be a powerful tool to solve social problems, promote sustainability, and contribute to a better world.
High-quality design is the foundation for the app’s success and for achieving a positive and lasting impact on the lives of users, the company, and society as a whole. I am extremely grateful to have been part of this project
